Reviews

We don’t like to brag, so we’ll let our happy customers do it for us.

Friendly and informative

We found the hotel staff very helpful with advice regarding the most suitable clothing for both of our excursions. We were also advised to moisturise our face in the evening and not to wash our face in the morning to prevent sun or wind burn. Our guides were superb with regards to advice as to the most appropriate clothing  to wear on the day of our trips as one day was "warm" and the next day was very cold. We felt very safe with our guides and found them very friendly and informative...

Accommodation

Sleep soundly, in the accommodation type of your choice, and wake up ready to enjoy another day of exploration.

Comfort Plus

Tour Information

We recommend that all our travellers read through the following information about what the tour includes, crucial information about flights to Svalbard, winter travel and useful information about the activities that are included during the tour.

INFORMATION ABOUT OUR SVALBARD TOURS
All accommodation and planned activities (as specified in the itinerary) will be pre-booked by Nordic Visitor. This is a self-guided tour, with no dedicated tour guide for the duration of your stay. For each planned activity, you can expect a different tour operator and guide, and you will have free time between activities. Nordic Visitor works with a small group of handpicked suppliers that are highly rated and deliver excellent service that meets our high standards.

Please note that there is an age minimum of 10 years old. Participants should be in good general health for this tour.

This is an active trip. You will be supervised by our professional guide. This tour is not suitable for people suffering from back pain or for pregnant women.

FLIGHTS TO SVALBARD
The flights to and from Svalbard Islands are not included. We would be happy to assist you with the flights from Oslo or Tromsø and adding optional pre or post nights the two cities for your visit.

Please note that due to the flight schedule between Svalbard and Norway, travellers are urged to spend the night in either Oslo or Tromsø before and after the trip. The weather can also be unpredictable, so extra nights are always recommended

VISITING NORWAY TOO?
This tour can be customised, including additional nights in Oslo, Tromsø, or Longyearbyen on request. We can also combine this tour with the tours and packages we offer in Norway. Click here or contact us for details.

DOG-SLEDDING
On this trip, two people share one dog team, and can take turns in driving.  All dog-sledding trips require that you run the dog team yourself, with supervising from the husky guide in advance

SNOWMOBILING
Please note, a valid driver’s license must be presented before the tour starts and drivers on the snowmobiles must always carry a valid driver’s license

NORTHERN LIGHTS & WINTER TRAVEL
Travelling in the winter season in Svalbard and Norway is highly recommended and very enjoyable. You will get a chance to see the snow covered landscape but bear in mind that the temperature is on average -3 to -12°c but can drop as low as -30°c. For more information about weather conditions, please refer to our Svalbard travel guide.

In Svalbard and Northern Norway, northern lights activity is strongest between November to mid February. Knowing that most of the northern lights activity this far north is between 06:00 and 18:00, you'll soon discover the uniqueness of Svalbard. Please note that sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Please note that the itinerary and activities can change without notice due to Arctic weather conditions. In the unlikely event that an activity is cancelled due to weather, an alternative will be offered.
