A small village among giant peaks
Tucked among the Romsdal Alps is the small village of Åndalsnes. With Europe’s tallest vertical mountain face, Trollveggen, located nearby, this area is popular with rock climbers and hikers, with numerous scenic paths for hiking as well as more challenging guided adventures.
Much of the original township was destroyed by bombing raids in World War II, but the community rebuilt and Åndalsnes is now an important transportation hub thanks to its position as the end station of the Rauma Railway.
