Where dazzling snow and ice meet frigid Arctic waters
Esmarkbreen is a monumental glacier located on the island of Spitsbergen. Named after the geologist Jens Esmark, the glacier measures a massive 15 kilometres (9 miles) long. The frigid mass opens up into the bay of Ymerbukta on the northern side of Isfjorden.
The sun shining on the glacier is a truly unforgettable sight. Glittering ice and dazzling snow set against the deep blue sea make for incredible photos, as well as memories that will last a lifetime.
