Northern Norway's second largest city and a great place to enjoy the great outdoors
Located just north of the Arctic Circle is Bodø, the second largest city in northern Norway after Tromsø and one of the ports of call of the Norwegian Coastal Voyage. Bodø is considered a paradise for hikers and cyclists, with its abundance of walking and biking trails in the area and a number of nature reserves and mountains within a short distance of the city.
This is also a good starting point for kayaking, boating, fishing or bird watching tours among the area’s numerous islets and skerries. And those who visit Bodø during winter will have a good chance of seeing some fabulous northern lights due to the city’s position within the “aurora zone.”
