Visit a mountainous area known as “The Home of the Giants” since Norway’s highest peaks are located here.
Lom is a small village tucked away in Jotenheimen, a mountainous area known as “The Home of the Giants” since Norway’s highest peaks are located here. It's considered to be the gateway to Jotunheimen National Park, a popular destination for mountain climbing, hiking, biking, rafting, skiing and paragliding.
It's also well known for its 12th century Lom Stave Church, one of the few surviving stave churches in Norway preserved at its original location. And for geology enthusiasts, a visit to the Fossheim Steinsenter may be of interest for its collection of gemstones, minerals and fossils.
