Introduction

Need to get away from the city for some nature, action and adventure? Then this is the tour for you! Combining activities in the unique Norwegian wilderness with the beautiful Aurora lights, this tour has everything. You’ll get a full day of dog sledding on your own sleigh; snowmobiles; reindeer sledding; horse sleigh rides; and exotic Aurora expeditions.

Itinerary

Day 1 Crossing the Arctic Circle
Arrive in Oslo; take continuing flight to Tromsø. We’ll meet and greet you in Tromsø, then escort you to your hotel. If you arrive early, we recommend that you pay a visit to the Polar Museum and Polaria. At 18:00, you’ll be picked up for the Northern Lights tour and escorted out to the Tromsø wilderness, where you’ll be given a warm drink and a meal while you wait to enjoy the Northern Lights.
 
Day 2 Enjoying the Fjords on Your Own
Today you’ll rent a car and head out of Tromsø. The destination of the day is Storfjord. On your way, you’ll drive along the beautiful Balsfjorden and over to Nordkjosbotn, which will then lead you to Storfjord. In the afternoon, you’ll visit a Sami farm and try reindeer sledding. After the tour, you can taste their unique reindeer soup. Spend the night in Lyngsfjord.
 
Day 3 A Day of Dog Sledding
Today you’ll take a full-day dog-sledding tour. You’ll have your own dog sleigh with 4–5 dogs (or you can be a passenger, if you prefer) and head along Lyngendalen and into the highlands of northern Norway. Your guide is one of the most experienced dog-sleigh riders in the world and has, among other things, been on an expedition to the North Pole.
During the tour, you’ll learn about both the local community as well as the dogs and how they’re trained. Spend the night in Lyngsfjord.
 
Day 4 Snowmobile and Horse-Drawn Sleigh Tour in Tromsø
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to Lyngsfjord and head north a while before returning to Tromsø. On your way back, you’ll stop in Lyngseidet and enjoy a half-day snowmobile tour in the Lyngseidet Mountains. In the evening in Tromsø, you’ll be taken on a Northern Lights horse-drawn sleigh tour, then enjoy a sleigh ride in the clear Arctic night. After the horse sleigh ride, you’ll pay a visit to an old barn at the farm and hear the story of the old farming culture. Dinner will be served and followed by coffee, tea and cake in a warm lavvo. Spend the night in Tromsø.
 
Day 5 Departure
After breakfast, you’ll be escorted to the airport for your flight back to Oslo, where you’ll take a continuing flight to your next destination.

We have three categories for accommodation on this tour: Simple, Comfort and Quality.

Simple

Accommodation is in budget hotels, farmhouses, and well-appointed guesthouses. All rooms are with private shower or bath and WC. Breakfast is always provided and is included in the price. Bed linen is included in the price, but beds are not always made. In the more remote areas, most places of accommodation offer optional evening meals.


Comfort

These are in well-appointed comfort hotels. All rooms are with private shower or bath and WC. Breakfast is always provided and is included in the price. Many have their own restaurant.


Quality

These are in quality four-star hotels or the best hotels available at each location. All rooms are with private shower or bath and WC. All hotels provide breakfast (included in the price) and have their own restaurant.
