Introduction

This is a great Christmas vacation for those who don’t have a lot of time but wish to experience the true Christmas spirit, along with exciting activities out in a majestic natural setting. During this tour, you’ll get a little taste of Christmas in Oslo, as well as a real white Christmas. Go dog sledding, reindeer sledding, skating, or ride the thunders of winter (snowmobiles). Take a long weekend off, make your dream come true and join us to experience a white Christmas out in Norway’s most spectacular wilderness.

Itinerary

Day 1: Christmas City
Arrival at Gardermoen Airport; meet-and-greet, followed by transfer to your accommodation, situated in the heart of the Christmas Capital, Oslo. If you arrive early, we recommend getting the Oslo Tourist Pass, which provides free travel on all public transport, free admission to over 25 museums and sites, and discounts on further attractions and sightseeing, restaurants and shops. After your Christmas shopping, we recommend going ice-skating on the central square in Oslo. Stay in a hotel in Oslo City Central.

Day 2: The White Christmas Capital
After a relaxing breakfast and small taste of Oslo, it’s off to Tromsø (home of Santa Claus’ reindeers), your main destination. You’ll take the airport express train to Oslo Gardermoen Airport, where you’ll board a flight to the Capital of the North. After settling into your centrally located hotel, you will have the rest of the day to explore the town and enjoy a white Christmas. In the evening, you’ll head out to Tromsø wilderness and enjoy some of the brightest Northern Lights in the world. Stay the night in Tromsø.

Day 3: Taste of Santa Claus’ Hobbies
Today is a day of pure nature, and nothing but nature. In the morning you’ll head out to Tromsø Wilderness Centre, where you’ll enjoy a ride on a dog sled pulled by some eager Alaskan Huskies. If you prefer machines, you have the option of exploring the wilderness on snowmobiles. During your day in nature, you’ll have the opportunity to get a true taste of Samii culture and, if you’re lucky, also try some of their traditional food. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the reindeers and try riding them on Santa Claus’ true snow sled. After a day in northern Norway nature, you’ll head back to the city, where you can enjoy a lovely meal in Tromsø. Stay the night in Tromsø.

Day 4: Departure Day
After an exciting and enjoyable taste of White Christmas and some of the most majestic nature in the world, it’s time to leave paradise and fly back to Oslo, where you’ll fly on to your next destination.

Accommodation Details

We have three categories for accommodation on this tour: Simple, Comfort and Quality.

Simple

Accommodation is in budget hotels, farmhouses, and well-appointed guesthouses. All rooms are with private shower or bath and WC. Breakfast is always provided and is included in the price. Bed linen is included in the price, but beds are not always made. In the more remote areas, most places of accommodation offer optional evening meals.


Comfort

These are in well-appointed comfort hotels. All rooms are with private shower or bath and WC. Breakfast is always provided and is included in the price. Many have their own restaurant.


Quality

These are in quality four-star hotels or the best hotels available at each location. All rooms are with private shower or bath and WC. All hotels provide breakfast (included in the price) and have their own restaurant.
