Introduction

We invite you for a week full of adventure. For those who like a mix of luxury and activities, who think of yourselves as expeditionary 9–5 and then like to relax in a nice lounge and enjoy a truly good dinner, this is your tour! The tour is fully escorted and guided, starting and ending at the airport. You’ll enjoy extraordinary nature, animals, culture, food and, of course, tours, carefully guided by our local experts.

Itinerary

Day 1: Entering Winter Paradise
Arriving at Oslo international airport, you’ll continue north with your connecting flight to Tromsø. Meet and greet at the airport, and then private escort to your hotel in Lyngenfjord. In the evening you’ll have a full tour introduction by our local expert. Spend the night at the charming country Lyngskroa Hotel or similar in Oteren. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the magnificent Aurora lights welcoming you to Norway. Note: You’ll be able to see the Aurora lights every evening from your hotel, if the sky is clear and conditions are right.
 
Day 2: Snowmobile Safari
After a lovely breakfast, it’s time to experience the ultimate adrenaline adventure: snowmobiling! Your snowmobile safari will go from the valley of Kitdalen, over the mountains to the borders of Finland and Sweden. You’ll have a hot meal at one of the most unique places in Scandinavia, Treriksrøysa (the meeting point of the Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish borders). The trip will be guided throughout in English, and include history from the region, its special fauna and geology. You’ll return to your hotel in the evening, spending the night at Lyngskroa Hotel or similar.
 
Day 3: A Visit to the Polar Zoo
Today your private guide will pick you up and take you to the destination of the day: the Polar Zoo. Here you’ll have a unique opportunity to see polar animals such as wolves, lynx, bears and moose, and many more. Of course, you’ll be served a hot meal during the trip. In the afternoon you’ll head back to Lyngenfjord. Spend the night at Lyngskroa Hotel or similar.
 
Day 4: Dog Sled-driving
After filling your breakfast tank, it’s time to try one of Scandinavia’s oldest traditions, dog sledding. The trip will begin in the valley of Signaldalen and take you over majestic mountains towards the borders of Finland and Sweden. Tom-Frode Johansen will be your guide; he’s a highly experienced dogsled-driver, whose achievements include expeditions to the North Pole with Prince Albert of Monaco. The guiding will be in English, including the history of the region and its culture, with special focus on the Kven, as well as the area’s unique fauna and geology. A hot meal based on northern Norwegian tradition will be served. After a long day out in nature, it’s time to head back to your hotel and have a well-deserved, quality meal.
 
Day 5: A Visit to the City of Tromsø and Polaria
No one can come to northern Norway and not visit the winter capital. There you will visit the city of Tromsø, the capital of northern Norway. You’ll walk through the city with your private guide, and visit the Polar museum and Polaria, an Arctic aquarium with interesting knowledge-based exhibits and a panoramic cinema. After an inspirational cultural day in the city, it will be time to head back out to the country and fill your lungs with fresh air. Spend the night at the Lyngskroa Hotel or similar.
 
Day 6: Reindeer-driving with Sami Culture
There are very few places in the world where one can try this ancient method of transportation: a trip on reindeer-pulled sleds in the company of the Sami people. Of course, there will be a stop at a “lavvu” (Lapland tipi), where traditional Sami food will be served. The experience will highlight Sami culture, and will offer guests

- Folktales from Sami history and culture
 
At the end of the day, it’s time to head back to the Lyngskroa Hotel.
 
 
Day 7: The End of the Adventure
All adventures come to an end, and now yours has too. It’s important to us that you enjoy the last hours of your adventure, so you’ll be given a private escort to Tromsø, from which you’ll head to Oslo. From there, you’ll catch your connecting flight to your next destination.
