Day 1: Welcome to Oslo
Arrive to Gardermoen Airport in Oslo. For an easy and comfortable way to get to your hotel in central Oslo, we are happy to arrange a private transfer for you.
If you arrive early, we suggest buying an Oslo Pass for free travel on all public transit along with free admission to over 30 museums and attractions plus special offers on entertainment, restaurants, shops and more. The pass can be purchased at tourist information centres or at most hotels and major attractions in the city. Spend the night at a hotel in central Oslo.

Day 2: Railway Journey to Trondheim
Head to Oslo Central Station early in the morning to board the Dovrebanen train, which passes over the Dovre mountain plateau through historic towns and nature preservations. As the second highest line after the Bergen Railway, the Dovre Railway includes great variations in terrain and altitude along with 8 kilometres of tunnels. The journey concludes with a steep, curvy descent down to the lowlands where Trondheim is located. Take the rest of the evening to discover the sights of this Medievel city, including Bakklandet, an idyllic neighborhood full of history and culture. Spend the night in Trondheim.
Oslo-Trondheim train: 08:07-14:50
Highlights:

Day 3: Exploring the Majestic Fjords
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before heading to the Trondheim harbour, where the Hurtigruten Coastal Voyage commences along the Trondheim Fjord and past Hitra Island, with brief calls at the coastal towns of Kristiansund and Molde. The final port of the day is Ålesund, a city renowned for its Art Nouveau architecture and fairytale atmosphere. Spend the night in a cabin on the cruise ship.
Hurtigruten Coastal Voyage departure: 10:00 (includes overnight stay on board)

Day 4: Sail to Historic Bergen
During the night, the ship calls at Torvik, Maløy, and Florø as the journey weaves through islets and stunning landscapes before coming within view of its final destination—Bergen. Here you will disembark early in the afternoon to enjoy some leisure time as you wish. We recommend a ride on the "Bergens Expressen" mini-train tour, which offers amazing views of the city centre from Fjellveien (“the mountain road”) including the Maria Church, the Rosenkrantz Tower, and King Håkon’s Hall. Spend the night at a hotel in central Bergen.
Arrival in Bergen: 14:30

Day 5: The Capital of the Fjords
Bergen, the “capital of the fjords”, is Norway’s second largest city yet it retains the atmosphere and charms of a small town. From your centrally-located hotel, you have easy access to the cultural and historical highlights of this must-see city. Visit Bryggen, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which dates back 900 years as a major Hanseatic trading centre. You can also catch a glimpse of local culture at the lively Fish Market or ride the Fløibanen Funicular to Mount Fløyen to enjoy the panoramic view of the city. Spend the night in Bergen.
Highlights:

Day 6: Land and Sea Adventure
From Bergen, the early Bergensbanen train carries you to Voss, where you will then board a bus bound for Gudvangen. Before driving down Stalheimskleiva, Northern Europe’s steepest stretch of road, the bus stops at the Stalheim Hotel, which offers an incredible panorama over the fjords. Upon reaching Gudvangen, you will embark on a short, scenic fjord cruise to Flåm, including a trip through Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in Europe. This UNESCO World Heritage site is perhaps the most breathtaking section of Sognefjord, Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, with its mighty peaks, tumbling waterfalls, and small farms clinging to the steep mountainsides. Finally, the boat sails up Aurlandsfjord to Flåm, a charming village where you will enjoy dinner at the local restaurant. (Included in the price.) Spend the night in Flåm.
Bergen – Flåm :08:40 – 13:40*
*Includes train from Bergen to Voss, bus from Voss to Gudvangen, and cruise from Gudvangen to Flåm.
Highlights:

Day 7: The Flåm Railway Experience
Spend the early part of your day exploring the village of Flåm, including the Flåm Railway Documentation Centre by the Flåm Station, where you can learn about the construction of the world’s steepest railway track. Admission is free. Later in the afternoon, you’ll get to experience the famous Flåm Railway firsthand as it climbs 900 metres over a span of 20 kilometres up the winding track to the Myrdal Station. Here you will switch to the Bergensbanen train that carries you over the mountainous rooftop of Norway on your way to Oslo. This ride, voted one of the 20 best railways in the world, will take you through the charming villages of Geilo and Gol before concluding in Oslo, where you will spend your last night in this amazing country.
Flåm – Oslo: 17:00 – 22:32 (includes Myrdal station transfer)
Highlights:

Day 8: Departure from Oslo
For transportation to Oslo-Gardermoen Airport, you can take the Flytoget express train from Oslo Central Station or a taxi directly from your hotel. If your flight is in the afternoon, take the opportunity to do some last-minute shopping, visit one of Oslo’s museums or just relax at a café after this amazing journey.

Reviews from our customers
Well-planned and well-organised
The tour encompassed a large area of Norway, it took us to many cities which we enjoyed experiencing. The hotel selection was well made, with the hotels being in central locations in the city. Also, the information provided was very useful and beneficial to our selection of activities. Overall a well-planned, well-organised and thoroughly enjoyable tour. Thank you.

Instant replies to emails and first class documentation
Nordic Visitor impressed us from the start with instant replies to Emails and the ability to call Nordic Visitor using a 1800 number from Australia, as I did once, was great. I have to thank Helena for everything she did for us, including sorting the slight hiccup that occurred in our pickup from Oslo airport. The documentation presented to us was 1st class, maps, travel information, and we much appreciated the DVDs from Hurtigruten.
We loved everywhere we travelled, Trondheim, cruising the Fjords, Bergin, perhaps Flam was a highlight, getting there, the accommodation, the included meal, the train ride. As it turned out we did the train from Flam to Myrdal twice as the train to Oslo could not operate due to snow, so they sent us back to Flam and then a bus to Oslo. Still this included travelling in the world’s longest road tunnel, which, in its way, was an unexpected highlight. Many thanks to Nordic Visitor and Helena, maybe Iceland is next.
